Friday Favorites v.85

We finally made it to the end of this snowy week! It’s supposed to be in the 50s this weekend and I am stocked. The snow was pretty, but I’m ready for it to be gone.

1. Oiselle released their Spring 2018 collection! These shorts, this bra, and these shorts are currently sitting in my cart waiting for me to purchase.

2. The headliner for the RnR Nashville concert was announced on Tuesday!

3. I know I’ve said this before, but I am so thankful for my jobs and the fact that I get to share my passion for journalism and communications with others. Even when the days are long, I go to bed satisfied that I shared my knowledge and stories with others.
*Buy a newspaper, save a journalist.

4. Oiselle’s All The Women collection. I seriously just love this brand and everything they stand for. Go check them out if you haven’t already!

5. My post from Wednesday with a quick and easy chocolate chip cookies.
Quick & Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies

6. I’m eyeing these Nike Power Women’s Training Tights — I’m just debating on the color (and for them go on sale)!

7. Boston Marathon elites to watch this year.

8. Waiting for the snow to disappear like:

Friday Favorites v.84

Happy cold Friday from Kentucky! We have ice here and snow is expected to come this afternoon. BRRR!

Tomorrow morning is my last run with my little brother before he heads back to college for the spring semester. It’s been so nice to have company during my long runs and I can’t wait for him to be over the summer. He’s planning on training for a spring half marathon! I think my running bug got passed on to him.

Okay. Let’s talk favorites!

1. Did you all see that Allie Kieffer signed with Oiselle?! I am so excited for her.

2. These beauties!
img_3257
3. I am all for efficiency. Anne’s make-ahead veggie egg sandwiches are super simple and easy to make. If you need a breakfast idea for next week, I suggest this recipe!

4. Connecting with you all on Instagram! I’ve had so much fun messaging you all and getting feedback from you all on Instagram. If you’re not already following me, do so (@mileswithmeghann)! I share lots of behind the scenes of my life and my real struggles and triumph with marathon training.

5. I’ve been drinking all the soup this week. While we had a couple warm days, it’s back to being freezing cold outside so I’ve treated myself to Great Harvest’s tomato bisque soup twice this week.

6. Target has the most adorable Valentine’s Day decorations in their dollar section! I picked up a few notepads for my desk and I love seeing all the pink and purple — it instantly brightens my mood!

7. BITMOJI. Ryan and I are SO late to this party, but we have been loving sending them back and forth for several weeks now.

8. #NeedASnack Still one of my favorite shirts for Murphy.

Friday Favorites v.83

Happy Friday, guys! It’s been a cold week, but thankfully it’s supposed to warm up over the weekend (to like the mid-30s). Usually, on short weeks, the days seem to drag on, but this week flew by.

I’ll recap week one of marathon training on Monday! I have an 8-mile run scheduled for tomorrow morning and I’m hoping to make it to a local trail instead of running on my treadmill.

This week was a good one! Let’s recap some favorites 🙂

1. My love for eggs comes and goes and right now I am all for them. I think I ate fried eggs on my sandwiches almost every day this week for lunch.

2. Aldi’s almond butter. I love Aldi for their prices and selection — not only do they have the basics (meat, bread, eggs, produce) but they have some healthy picks too! I picked up a jar of almond butter last week and I have eaten some almost every day this week for breakfast or as a snack.
The benefits of almond butter vs. peanut butter (even though I love them both!)

3. My biggest work project of 2017 launched on Thursday and I got so many positive comments on it! It was the perfect way to end the week and I am so proud of the work me and my team put in to make this magazine awesome.

4. I sent this screenshot to husband earlier this week. Can’t wait to buy this Sarah Marie Design Studio sweatshirt.

5. Last weekend I got a new pair of shoes to kick off marathon training. I decided to go with the Glycerin 15s instead of the Ghosts (a shoe I have loved for years) for more support and cushioning. I’m thinking about dedicating an entire post to these shoes because I am so in love with them.

I highlighted these socks in an Instastory on Monday but thought I would share them over here too.

7. Did you all see my post from earlier in the week on virtual races? I’m still a little on the fence about them, but I take my chances later in the year and sign up for one.

8. Sun-bathing diva.

Oiselle Surprise Style Tights Package

This post is NOT sponsored by Oiselle. I just really love their brand and everything the company stands for and I hope to share their message and products with you.

At the end of October Oiselle (yes, I’m a little late getting around to this) had its warehouse sale and deeply discounted lots of apparel. Since at regular price Oislle is a little higher than I tend to spend on running clothes, I jumped at the chance to snag some of my favorite items on sale!

The best deal BY FAR was the surprise style package. It had three pairs of tights in a surprise style (basically whatever they had in their warehouse) for $25. Here is what I received.

Wazzie Wool Jane John Leggings

At first, I wasn’t too sure how well I would like these, but I have been impressed. They are so soft and warm and didn’t sag when I ran! They are a little thin because they are supposed to be a base layer, but they work well under shorts or pants. 073fe62a3febede83406005651018e84--long-johns-wool.jpg

Class Lesley Tights

I received this gorgeous blue color for my Lesley Tights, but I couldn’t find a good picture to show you! The thing that impressed me the most with the pair was the durability of the fabric! It’s tackled lots of sweat, stretching and washing and they still look good as new!

Window Tights

It’s hard to pick a favorite between the three pairs, but if I had to, I think these would be it! They are so comfy and I find myself wearing them straight from the treadmill to the grocery. If you’re looking for a great, versatile pair of leggings, I really think these are worth the investment.

Friday Favorites v. 76

*Sorry for the blog problems this morning! This post published only half finished? So odd! I think everything is back to normal now.

WE ARE LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY FROM THANKSGIVING. Can you tell I am excited?

Before the craziness of next weeks starts, let’s talk Friday Favorites.

1. Every Wednesday I eat supper at Panera before I teach my night class. This week I branched out from my usual order and tried their new turkey and cranberry flatbread. OMG it was SO good. Definitely a new favorite. And you can never go wrong with their broccoli and cheese soup.
img_2412

2. These festive earrings are to die for! They would be so perfect for New Year’s Eve!

3. My Turkey 5 miler is tomorrow! I’m not really worried about time, but it will be fun to race again. Are any of your racing this weekend? I know a lot of turkey trots wait until Thanksgiving day, but we like to have ours a little early 🙂

4. This song came on the radio earlier this week and I forgot that this used to be my jam back in the day.

5. Ryan and I have been addicted to playing Words with Friends 2. It’s been so fun racking my brain for crazy words. Even though I’ve lost almost every game, it’s still so fun to play.

6. Gear to make winter running just a bit better.

7. If you’re still needing a dish to take to a Thanksgiving gathering, FAnnetastic Food had a great roundup of healthy Thanksgiving recipes on her blog yesterday.

8. I love this snuggly pup.

Friday Favorites v.55

GUYS. TGIF.

Today is going to be hot and maybe rainy?. Tomorrow and Sunday are going to be hot. My plans for this hot and humid weekend include playing with Murphy in his new doggie (kiddie) pool, drinking lots of water and trying not to pass out during my runs.

Stay cool this weekend, friends!

But before the weekend begins, let’s go over some of my favorites from this week. While work was pretty busy and my runs were pretty boring, I found lots of great inspiration and fun things on the web this week.

1. Watermelon Tumbler Set. The cutest set for summer dinner parties or snacks around the pool.

2. Finding Gobi. Finding Gobi is the miraculous tale of Dion Leonard, a seasoned ultramarathon runner who crosses paths with a stray dog while competing in a 155-mile race through the Gobi Desert in China. The pup, who would later earn the name Gobi, proved that what she lacked in size, she more than made up for in heart, as she went step for step with Dion over the Tian Shan Mountains, across massive sand dunes, through yurt villages and the black sands of the Gobi Desert, keeping pace with him for nearly 80 miles.

Their story is now a book and will soon be a movie! As a runner and a dog lover, I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. Such an inspirational story!

3. Mix and match healthy smoothie recipes from Fannetastic Food!

4. I’ve been on a beet kick lately and these juices are so good! These are from a local place in Owensboro, but I also love the beet juice from Suja.img_0783

5. Chemotherapy, then the U.S. Championships, for Gabriele Grunewald. Such an great story of grit and character. I wish her the best! It really does go to show you, that most of the time, we are the only ones holding ourselves back. We have no limitations. We just have to believe we can do anything.

6. The best red, white & blue running gear for the 4th of July. *I love this tank! It looks so light and airy and it’s long enough to cover everything. Definitely buying it this weekend.
Screen Shot 2017-06-22 at 3.57.50 PM.png

7. Exercise ball ab workout. I tried this out on Thursday and holy abs it was a killer.

8. So focused on his favorite red ball. I love it. Lunch time fetch with Murphy is the best.

Friday Favorites v.48

It’s birthday month! I am someone who loves birthdays, so birthday month is a big deal to me! Plus Ryan and I take our yearly trip to STL in May. Go Cards!

This week was my first full work week in more than two weeks, so it felt super long — but also super productive! This time of year is super busy with my job, but I love feeling accomplished after a long day at work.

Before the weekend can begin let’s talk Friday Favorites and get through another work day.

1. I get to meet one of my best friend’s baby! My very first best friend had her first child a little more than a month and I get to meet him for the first time tomorrow. I am so excited for some baby snuggles and quality time with my friend.

2. This drink looks like perfect addition to any outside party! Sparkly and refreshing! Raspberry Lemonade Fizz recipe.

3. Is there really such a thing as too many shoes?! Even with running shoes, I like to have several pairs to rotate (plus I like to match my outfits) Currently eyeing these bad boys.

4. This was from @pbfingers insta story several days ago. These snack balls look delicious. Check out her blog if you haven’t already.

5. Breaking 2. (which has a neat hashtag emoji on Twitter) The world attempt at breaking 2 hours in the marathon is taking place tomorrow morning in Italy (or roughly 10:45 p.m. Friday where I’m at in Kentucky)

Runner’s World has an entire page on their site dedicated to all the info you need to know for the sub-2 attempt. It’s pretty interesting stuff. Check it out here.

6. 2016 Road Race Trends. I love looking at all the nuts and bolts of running. Like how in 2016, there were 16,957,100 finishers of 30,400 running events in the U.S. So neat! How many did you finish?

7. YES YES YES. I am in love with these sandals from Draper James + Jack Rogers.

8. I love afternoons with Murphy. He still sucks at fetch, so I usually just end up chasing him around the yard while he holds a ball in his mouth. #dogmom

Friday Favorites v.46

Happy happy Friday, friends! I am only working a half day today because our new bedroom furniture is getting delivered! I am so excited for our new king sized bed! Now there will be more than enough my, Ryan and Murphy (if you’re new here, that’s our sweet pup!)

But before the fun begins, let’s go over some of my favorites from the week.

1. I tried a sample of these coconut energy balls earlier this week when I went to our local juice bar and oh my gosh they are delicious! I’m really thinking about ordering some to keep in my desk at work.

2. Speaking of our local juice bar, on Wednesday I was feeling super sluggish and tired, so I decided to stop into Wheatgrass Juice Bar and get one of their cold-pressed juices. I ordered Turn Up The Beet and it hit the spot! It had beet, apple, carrot, cucumber and ginger and it was delicious. You could really taste the ginger — it had a little kick to it.

3. In case you missed my post on Tuesday about some of the highlights from Monday’s Boston Marathon, this post sums it up pretty well too.

4. While this is a lot more than I would spend on a top, this Draper James top is adorable! So if you have some extra cash to spend – this would be a great buy for this spring and summer!

5. Add these beauties to my running shoe collection, please.
Screen Shot 2017-04-18 at 8.32.05 AM.png

6. I won free lunch for me + my coworkers on Thursday from Penn Station. It was a nice surprise treat to end my work week.

7. I have been loving my foam roller this week after getting in some pretty good tempo runs and speed workouts. While I don’t think this one needs replacing any time soon, I am thinking about looking into a more aggressive roller (maybe something like this one?)

8. Look at this cutie hanging out in his crate. 😍😍😍

Friday Favorites v.45

Happy Friday! I know many of you probably have the day off, but journalists never get holidays, so I’m at work waiting for the weekend begin! Like many of you, I have lots of family time planned for this weekend, especially with Easter being on Sunday. While I always get to see my family since they live so close, Ryan’s parents are coming in for the weekend, so it’ll be nice to have everyone in one place!

Before the weekend begins (at least for me!) let’s go over some of my favorites from this week.

1. Brooks Greenlight Capris for $20! What a deal. Guys, I love these capris and totally plan on buying some more. They have other colors on sale too, but they are around $25ish.
Screen Shot 2017-04-14 at 7.54.54 AM.png

2. I’ve mentioned on here before that Anne at Fannetastic Food is one of my favorite healthy living/running bloggers. Earlier this week she shared a post called Mix & Match Grain Salad Bowl Recipes and it totally inspired some of my lunches for the week.

3. Grapefruit Mojito recipe from Somethin’ Southern. This looks delicious and I can’t wait to give it a try this weekend!

4. I feel like I am finally getting faster! I killed all of my workouts this week and even my pace on casual runs has been a little faster than normal. Since I’m thinking about getting back into training for a half, this is super exciting! Maybe a sub-2 is possible this year?!
img_0743

5. I celebrated my two year work anniversary on Thursday! I’m so happy to be back in my hometown and working at a job that I love with people who are pretty great.

6. I follow @Disney on Twitter and earlier this week they tweeted this cute picture. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies of all time and this quote instantly made my smile. Plus I love all of the flowers.
Screen Shot 2017-04-14 at 8.09.54 AM

7. Olympian Desiree Linden looks to end 32-year U.S. drought at Boston Marathon.

8. Just in case you missed all of the adorbale-ness that is Murph-dog. Check out my post from last weekend when Murphy and I had a mini photoshoot in the backyard.

Friday Favorites v. 43

What a work-filled week this has been! While some of pull-my-hair-out crazy, this week was really inspiring. Sometimes I get lost in my work and feel like I’m on autopilot, but this week was different. This week I was fired up and passionate about what I do. I am thankful to be in a career I love at such a young age.

Before I get into my work day, I want to share with you all some of my favorite things from this week.
Friday Favorites are some my favorite posts (ha! get it? favorite…) Take a look back at all my FF posts here.

I hope you all have a fun-filled weekend no matter where you are!

1. These hot pink compression socks are everything. While I am not willing to drop $50 on them right now, they are definitely on my radar (hopefully a sale will happen soon?!)
Screen Shot 2017-03-28 at 4.29.06 PM.png

2. The prettiest cheese board I’ve ever seen! It all looks delicious.

3. Some inspiration.

Screen Shot 2017-03-27 at 2.01.31 PM.png

4. We are officially less than two months until my birthday and our annual trip to STL!

5. Run all the miles, eat all the doughnuts.

6. Friday night. Wine night. Featuring Murphy. 🐶🍷

7. This Strawberry Cheesecake recipe I shared on the blog earlier this week.

8. We are loving these warmer days and all the daylight we are getting in the afternoons. img_1145
